A trip to Build in 2012 included some quality pub time with Sean Delaney and Steve Milne. As the trip went on, the idea of starting a gin company that didn't actually produce anything was hatched. Could a company exist that merely sold the idea of something? We laughed about all manner of silly ideas into the night but for me, this thing couldn't be as real as it needed to be until we had a logo.
There were a number of ideas, all equally shit. I decided to go with a prohibition era typeface and settled on Brandon Text. There was something about it that just sat right for me, it had some element of fakeness that mirrored the gin we weren't distilling. The small mark is a hat tip to Build where the idea was hatched and of course, no drinks brand of any authenticity can survive without an established date.
